Michelle Amiel, RDH
Delray Beach, Florida
What is your educational background?
I have a degree as an expanded dental hygienist.
How long have you practiced dental hygiene?
I graduated 30 years ago and have practiced dental hygiene for 20 years. The past 13 years I have worked in all capacities of the RDH field. I have assisted the dentist I work for in opening practices here in Florida and also in New York.
What is your current practice?
A dentist has recruited me to spearhead a vision for an “all-in-one dental facility,” which will house 20 operatories and be a teaching facility for other offices. I currently oversee all administrative and staff functions and hiring. I also coordinate and present treatment plans for our patients’ procedures.
What do you enjoy most about being a dental hygienist?
My passion for this profession is the vast influence we have on people’s lives. We are educators and our patients rely on us for sound professional advice on their oral health care. I thrive on the “emotional” aspect of dentistry, from the staff to the patients and doctors.
When were you introduced to Oxyfresh?
The dentist I was working with in 1996 introduced me to the products and asked me to evaluate them. I was highly impressed.
What is your favorite Oxyfresh product and why?
The OxyCare® 3000 along, with the lemon-mint flavored Power Rinse. I have a lot of dental work in my mouth, including implants. My diet is mainly raw foods and nuts, which are very difficult to clean with basic brushing and flossing. The hydromagnetic irrigator is able to clear debris and freshen breath like nothing else.
What are your hobbies and passions in life?
I enjoy physical activities that maintain my body physically and my mind. I do yoga, cycling, swimming and endurance activities. I live in a warm climate, so I am able to grow most of my green vegetarian diet. I am passionate about sharing with others what it takes to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Because Oxyfresh is a business of meeting people, I enjoy creating healthy relationships with people that come into my life. My life passion is also being present for two wonderful young adult children that I have watched evolve and become the next generation of Oxyfresh leadership.
Who is the most influential person in your life that played a major role in your success?
That is a difficult question as there have been so many. In the very beginning of my Oxyfresh career, the two people who kept me in the business were my upline, Carol and Arlen Braunstein. I had never been in MLM before, and as we know the first few months or years are crucial to the longevity of our career. Carol and Arlen lived on the other coast from me, yet called me weekly, sometimes daily, to check in. I was taught early on by Oxyfresh President Richard Brooke to reach out to successful leaders to learn and grow. To list them all is difficult, yet I have to say that Randy Anderson my upline, Tom Ventullo, and Sharon Ludders were very influential in their patience and leadership. The personal coaching of Richard Brooke while in our leadership groups like the President’s Circle and other accountability groups kept me on track and with a laser-focused purpose of commitment and tenacity, as well as personal growth.
